Eryn Eubanks and The Family Fold will be featured at Thursday’s Music in the Park concert series at Maude Edenfield Park.
The group, which has been together since 2001, was voted Best Christian Band of 2011 by Augusta Magazine . Members of the band consist of: Eryn Eubanks, lead vocalist; Patrick Eubanks, percussion; Ricie Eubanks, upright bass, penny whistle and harmony vocals; Mike Merritt, guitar and vocals; and Jim Jewel, guitar and vocals.
Guest performer Taylor Swan will also join Thursday’s concert on guitar and vocals.
“We play acoustic, folk, Celtic, bluegrass, classic country and gospel,” said Eryn.
Eryn said when she is not performing that she teaches music lessons.
“Also, we have weekly jam sessions and coffeehouse on Saturdays from 4 to 6 p.m. on the corner of Eve and Fenwick Street in Augusta,” she said. “All acoustic instruments (are) welcome.”
The 5th annual Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold Music Festival benefitting Lynndale, Inc. will be held Nov. 3 at the Kroc Center in Augusta.

Q: What is the first tune that you learned and mastered?
A: I can’t remember the first tune, but it would have been a classical piece on the double bass.
Q: What are your fondest music memories?
A: Playing with older friends who are unable to play now.
Q: What advice would you give to up and coming musicians?
A: Johnny Hensley told me this: “Know why you’re doing what you are doing.” I told him I make my music to help others, and he said, “Then you will always be happy, whether you are famous or not.”
Q: What has been the group’s recent biggest accomplishment?
A: Our music festival that benefits Lynndale, Inc., a community support service that was established in 1952.
