Valentine’s items stolen
Two North Augusta women were arrested Feb. 13 for shoplifting at Walmart.
According to a North Augusta Public Safety incident report, a store employee told police that she saw the women in the hygiene department selecting items from the shelves very quickly before going to the next aisle to hide them in their purses. The women then walked around the store before leaving without paying for the items.
Items taken included Valentine’s bags, heart gifts, brown truffles, tissue, candy, a Survivor DVD, a CD, aftershave, and Axe body products.
Rose Mary Sherlock, 52, and Stacy Theresa Riley, 28, both of the 1200 block of Shannon Drive, were arrested for shoplifting under $2,000 and were placed on trespass notice from the store.
Valuables taken from home
A 51-year-old North Augusta woman reported that jewelry and prescription pills valued at $66,800 were taken from her home in the 200 block of River Wind Drive.
The victim told North Augusta Public Safety officers that the items were taken between 2 and 3 p.m. Feb. 8, according to an incident report.
The items reported missing included a pair of cluster diamond earrings, a pair of hoop diamond earrings, a diamond necklace, a sapphire necklace, a strand of pearls with a diamond and pearl enhancer, diamond and sapphire bracelets, a Rolex watch and about 20 hydrocodone pills.
