Poem: What Price for a Life

Posted: February 14, 2012 - 7:24pm  |  Updated: March 21, 2012 - 10:12am

What Price for a Life

What price should be paid for the loss of a life?

Is it true some people have no soul?

Can a person court evil and embrace it so much

They have no chance to be whole

Can your heart turn so cold even God can’t get through?

Is it possible to reach that stage in life?

If that is the case then they should be locked up

For they really don’t know day from night

Three lives were cut down counting one in the womb

And the community is outraged to the core

And the criminals are coddled by the courts of this land

We should shout out in grief, no more

Yes it is a fact monsters walk in our midst

And they have no conscience or care

They deserve the same mercy that they show to their victims

For the scales of justice to be fair

For the families of these victims this is our prayer

May God’s love and his grace shower you

May you draw from his strength, may you walk by his side

Counsel him, for he will pull you through
