Nominations for good deeds award
The Exchange Club of North Augusta is accepting nominations for the annual Book of Golden Deeds award. The award recognizes the good deeds of those “whose self-sacrifices, responses to duty and service to mankind might otherwise pass unnoticed or unknown to the general public," according to a news release. Nominations must be sent by Sept. 28 to Patricia A. Ingle, 1289 Knox Ave., North Augusta, SC 29841. Nominations should include the nominee’s name, address and a brief resume of the “Golden Deeds”.
Unwanted or expired medication can be dropped off for free, no questions asked, at Parks Pharmacy from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 29 as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency National Take-Back Day.
All medications will be taken back except liquids. Medications will be incinerated, the news release said.

Constitution Week will be celebrated Monday through Sept. 23. Susan Robbins, regent of the Martintown Road chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution asked Mayor Lark Jones to issue the city's celebratory proclamation.
The chapter will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 1101 Carolina Ave. The guest speaker will be Capt. Dave Myers, who is retired from the Navy and as commander of the North Augusta High School NJROTC.
