Suzanne Fletcher is excited about promoting business in her hometown.
Fletcher, who recently joined the Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce, is tasked with working on member relations.
“I’m so excited about it,” she said. “I’m from here. My family is still here. My mom was a Realtor here for 25 years. My sister is a Realtor here. I just love the idea of promoting my own hometown.”
In her role with the chamber, she is working on increasing interaction between the chamber and its 400 members through e-mail and social media communications such as Facebook and Twitter.
“My goal is to talk to every member every quarter,” she added.
She hopes that by encouraging interaction, members will also continue to build networks with one another.
“I think the chamber members can learn a lot from each other and help each other,” Fletcher said. “It’s a pool of people you can interact with without having to go to one business over here and one business over there to try to make connections.”
Her previous positions and experiences have prepared her to take on the new role.
She owned Closetcrafts, a small business that installed custom closets in North Augusta, for about seven years; has experience in administration and social media; and she loves meeting and talking with people.
“I feel like I’ve been led in the right direction,” she said of her new position.
In addition to her work with the chamber, she is involved with her church, Grace United Methodist, and has served as treasurer for Community Ministry of North Augusta for eight years.
North Augusta has a lot to offer and has a great vision going forward, she said.
“We may be a small place in some aspects but we’re on the verge of doing big things and I’m just so proud of my hometown,” she said.
“What better job could I have than promoting business in my own hometown?”
