North Augusta/Midland Valley Relay for Life will be held Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight at North Augusta High School’s track.
The annual event benefits the American Cancer Society. This year’s goal is $35,000.
The opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. with a speech by cancer survivor Melanie Chavous.
Cancer survivors will then walk the first lap followed by their caregivers. Relay teams will join them on the third lap and walk the track for the remainder of the event.
About 25 teams have registered for the event and will continue to fundraise during the event.
Other activities include entertainment, games, contests, the Mizz Relay competition, a guitar pull and silent auction.

6 p.m.: Opening ceremonies with speaker Melanie Chavous
7:45 p.m.: North Augusta/Midland Valley Guitar Pull
10 p.m.: Luminary ceremony
11:45 p.m.: Closing ceremonies
