Public safety conducting training

North Augusta Public Safety will have active shooter training exercises today and Thursday.

The training will be held at the substation on West Five Notch Road and will move to Mossy Creek Elementary School at 3 p.m. each day. Several law enforcement vehicles may be seen parked around the school until 9 p.m. today and from 3 p.m. to midnight Thursday.

No pupils will be on campus during the training exercises at Mossy Creek.

The training is being instructed by agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Officers from North Augusta Public Safety, Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department and Aiken Department of Public Safety are participating.
