The process to make permits available for Sunday alcohol sales is expected to take a few more weeks, according to a news release from North Augusta City Administrator Todd Glover.
“The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) is reviewing information submitted on Tuesday by the city of North Augusta regarding the certified election results and is preparing their permitting system to issue Sunday sales permits to North Augusta businesses who apply,” the release stated.
Eligible businesses located in the city limits will be able to apply for a LOP Permit, which will allow Sunday sales of liquor by the drink, and the P7B Permit, which will allow businesses to sell beer and wine for off-premise consumption seven days a week.
Businesses can visit the SC Department of Revenue website, www.sctax.org/Tax+Information/abl/default.htm, for updates on when the permits will be available and how to apply.
“At this point, current license holders may now only conduct Sunday sales of beer and/or wine for on-premise consumption provided they have an On-Premise Beer and Wine Permit, in accordance with S.C. Code Ann. Section 61-4-630,” according to the release.
