New computer stations to assist job seekers

Posted: October 2, 2012 - 10:10pm

The Nancy Carson Library and Edgefield County Public Library are amongst nine libraries in the Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield library system that will receive new job seeker computer stations this month.

The station will provide job seekers with access to online resources in South Carolina for job searching and resume creation such as South Carolina Works and the Department of Employment and Workforces Web sites, according to a newsletter.

People will be able to sign up for one two-hour session per day. A specially selected collection of books will also be available.

The project is funded through “a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the South Carolina State Library," the newsletter stated.

Other participating libraries are Aiken County Public Library, Bamberg County Public Library, Barnwell County Public Library, Blackville Branch Library, Denmark Branch Library and Nancy Bonnette Branch Library.
