Prism Concert

The PRISM concert has become an annual event for the North Augusta Arts Council and Savannah River Winds. The object of this performance is to give the audience the opportunity to hear the various "colors" of the wind ensemble. This is accomplished by featuring various chamber groups which will perform apart from the full ensemble. These chamber groups, i.e. Flute Choir, Brass Ensemble, Saxophone Quartet, are positioned throughout the sanctuary in the North Augusta First Baptist Church both in the balcony and at first floor level. The chamber groups perform, one after the other demonstrating to the audience the timbre, or color, of each section of the wind ensemble The chamber ensembles then come together forming the wind ensemble. The full ensemble then performs several selections demonstrating the the audience the combination of all the colors of the chamber groups.

This year Savannah River Winds will again include members of the Columbia County Ballet Company under the direction of Mr. Ron Jones to "give the music movement" through their dance interpretation of the selection COLOR composed for wind ensemble by Bob Margolis.
