New sign marks young golfer’s latest achievement

Luke Parsons (second from right), 8, is joined by Salley Mayor Bob Salley (from left), brother Hunter Parsons and state Rep. Bill Taylor for the dedication Friday of a new sign celebrating Luke’s second win in an international tournament. In 2016, the town and Taylor joined in putting up a sign touting Luke’s victory in the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship. After Luke won the IMG Junior Golf World Championship in his age division in July, they decided a new sign was in order. In April, Luke will compete in the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National.
