We spent years of effort and great sums of money to curtail cigarette smoking, and now we are promoting the smoking of marijuana. Just like (with) cigarettes, the state governments are putting the revenue derived from this vice ahead of the health and welfare of their citizens. Why do governments make so much money off of vice taxes (gambling, drinking, smoking)? Because people become addicted to these behaviors and will engage in them at any cost, including the destruction of their lives, the lives of their family and lives of anyone standing between them and these behaviors.
