North Augusta High School's Partnership with Business collected 438 pounds of food for Golden Harvest Food Bank through their Future Business Leaders of America project, "Drive Away Hunger ... One Can at a Time." When they started the project at the beginning of the school year they had no idea the state FBLA chapter would begin their own food collection campaign.

The phone book led the Kirkmans to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple, and their three daughters, have lived in the area off and on for about 10 years, but it wasn't until last year that they found a church home.

The Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce usually draws a decent crowd at events, but with U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett and Sen. Jim DeMint as guests, more than 400 tickets have been sold to next week's annual meeting.

Pageant is learning experience

Like any school event, the Fox Creek High School pageant provided a learning experience for many students. Thirty-nine girls learned everything from the value of a smile and how to walk in heels to how to dance '50s style for the themed pageant.
